The forest is an integral part of our life. It provides everything we all need to survive, but in return what we do? In this video of 4 minutes, we will see how it affects the forest, its consequences, and what steps the Nature Conservation Deforestation Project in China is taking to protect the forests.

Nature provides us all things, from the food we eat to the oxygen we breathe. We often forget that we are part of this ecosystem too just like savanna grasses or giant panda. But unlike others we are at the top of the food chain, dominating the ecosystem and affecting the ecosystem in a profound way.

Carbon, a chemical element that is the base of all known life, is found everywhere. It is also present in our fuels that power our lives whether it’s gasoline or wood. When these fuels burned, it releases carbon in the form of Co2, enters the carbon cycle, nature’s way of moving carbon around, and balancing life on earth. But our daily activities impact the earth’s carbon cycle and threaten the system we depend on. We are warming our planet creating unpredictable weather and degrading the environment for all life.

Besides carbon-dioxide and producing oxygen, trees in the soil they grow collect rainwater, filter it naturally before we use it. Also, prevent soil erosion. Therefore cutting down trees for things we use daily isn’t a good idea always. By doing this, not only add carbon in the atmosphere, but deforestation also reduces the ecosystem services that can provide to us and the carbon cycle ability to absorb and balance.

Nature Conservancy's projects provide a number of measurable benefits for climate, wildlife, and people. Those who live near these projects are experiencing how the simple operation of planting trees can result in great things.

•    Benefits of reforestation

Forests help fight global climate change and restore vanishing species from extinction. It will also enable human-beings to better solve the problems of global hunger, water management and availability. In addition, to help to balance greenhouse gases and gives back the natural world that makes life possible and sustainable.
