- This 3 minute video speaks about food wastage and also suggests steps to minimize it.

- Each year 1/3rd of all the food that is produced is lost or wasted. It means that all of the natural resources used for growing, processing, packaging, transportation and marketing that food were also wasted.

- Each year the wasted food amounts to 3.3 Giga tonnes of green house gases.

- The possibile solutions are:
a. Food producers can invest in better harvest and storage technologies to avoid food loss.
b. Food retailers can reduce prices of imperfectly shaped vegetables and donate unsellable yet, edible surplus food to those in need.
c. Food not fit for human consumption can be reuse to feed animal.
d. Individual consumers can be more careful shoppers. They can request smaller portions at restaurant.
e. We can reduce landfills through investments in transforming food waste into composite or biogas.

- It would take the commitment to all to reduce food loss and waste so that all the natural resources used in producing food will end up as meals for the world's population instead of garbage in landfills.
