This video briefs us on microplastics and its collateral damages.

• A microplastic is a piece of plastic of 1-5mm.

• Microplastics are formed by the disintegration of bigger size plastic when left in the environment and forms into smaller bits.

• They are also intentionally manufactured for cosmetic products.

• Industries also have a major role in letting out Microplastics in the environment. They are left out in the filtration or cannot be filtered and are dumped in the waters.

• They pollute the water bodies, cause harm to Marine life and also enter the food chain causing major problems.

•We are adding to this problem of microplastics by:
-usage of single-use plastics
-improper disposal of plastics
-use of products containing microbeads
-using synthetic fibers

•Small steps one can take to prevent microplastic pollution:
Refusal to one-time use plastics
Carry your own cloth or paper bags while purchasing goods
Reuse plastic articles much as possible
Avoid the use of a product containing microbeads
Avoid synthetic fibers
